What's Going ON: Bazaar, Palma de Mallorca.
When I hear the word Decoupage I immediately think of the talented artist, John Derian. I first saw his East Village Shop in New York City some 10 years ago and walked through with stars in my eyes. I walked out with the most bizarre item, a 3 foot tall ostrich feather duster! I am truly a lover of the obscure, and my home in Mallorca is filled with such oddities.
Just a few weeks ago the doors opened to a store which I could now purchase such creative, hand-made goods. Bazaar Palma reminds me of a shop you would see on a side street in NYC or Paris that would be a designer best kept secret. Hand-made ceramics line the book cases of this old shop that was lovingly restored by owner Mila Lázaro. Bazaar holds so much history in the city and the doors have been shut for some 40 years. In its previous life it was a bookstore for school children and much of the decor has stayed the same, maybe it's because the bookshelves were built directly into the walls!! A few minor tweaks, color updates and gorgeous Palm lined cases this space is light and airy. The table in the middle is set for a tea party with your closets friends, I can almost smell the Rose Petal tea brewing. Don't be surprised to find me sitting there pretending to sip tea from the gorgeous Astier de Villatte cups, probably the gold trimmed ones!
Some of the brands Bazaar is carrying are carefully selected and of the highest standard; Astier de Villatte, John Derian, Malle W. Trousseau, Mille et Claire, Malin + Goetz, or L:A Bruket. If you are stuck on finding a gift for your highly eccentric friend, make this your first stop!

Just wanted to add that I love candles and Astier de Villatte have some of the best. From Paris, with love! Happy Shopping.
