Where We EAT: Kurobota, Santa Catalina (Palma)

Exquisite food coming out of this fresh, new kitchen in the Santa Catalina District of Palma. But since we're on a bit of a cocktail kick lately we couldn't resist but trying a few of the very creative options on the menu. The Sencha Meets Elderflower was the perfect balance of healthy and fun as it felt like you were dining with The Mad Hatter himself. Tea Cup not included!

The menu is concise with all plates for sharing, making this the perfect date night spot. The dishes are all Asian Fusion with hints of Japan, Korea and touches of China with a nod to an Americanized version of the Bao Bun, most commonly known by the NYC Restaurant; Momofuku. Let's just say when people say bao we jump for joy! It's really the simple things in life, right?

Now back to date night as we ordered 4 dishes and each one complementing the other perfectly. For me it's important that the flow of your order is correct, when each dish is too rich and fatty you need something light to break up your mouth feel. We enjoyed the dumplings which almost melted once you put them in your mouth, the pasta dough was perfection and also dyed black! Both of the bao buns (we cannot resist them) one with pork belly and the other with soft shell crab, finishing with the marinaded tuna for something light and fresh.

Date Night set the two of us back 70,00euros. One of us had 2 cocktails and they are the same price as one plate so it depends where your priorities lie. Everything we ate was a complete hit but the dumplings were probably the highest scored because of how thin the pasta was.
