Where We EAT: Naan Street Food, Palma de Mallorca

I've been eating out a lot in the area of Santa Catalina in Palma recently. It's the trendy area with many small Restaurants & Cafes that offer creative cuisine. It reminds me a lot of the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the early 2000's, before Williamsburg was on trend.

Where We EAT: SHOGUN Restaurant, Palma de Mallorca.

I crave Japanese food often, and I'm not talking about sushi or sashimi which just about everyone thinks of. I love silky tofu and tonkatsu that have rich, deep developed flavors. I'm looking for umami bursts that surprise the palate.

Verd is only open during lunch hours and calls itself the Summer Terrace of Marcel Ress, we call it our favorite posh lunch splurge... just make sure you save room for dessert!

Marc Fosh has opened not one but two new eaters in Palma in the last month. After announcing the closing of Misa Brasserie in late June to make way for Fosh Lab and now his latest venture Fosh Kitchen. Let's go explore and see what's on our plate...

Where We EAT: Badal Burger, Palma de Mallorca.

When it comes to burgers I have come to realize that nobody in Europe will make a truly American Style all Beef Burger. They like to be creative, add hunks of goats cheese pairing it with a tangy cranberry relish because that is how they see their version of a burger. But what pains me the most is how each patty is made with a mix of different meat, usually not having the right amount of fat content or adding in bread for filler, resulting in mama's style meatloaf. I'm sorry but sometimes I just want a In-and-Out Burger, or when in NYC a ShakeShack Burger, they just know how to deliver a classic.

Where We EAT: La 5ª Puñeta, Palma de Mallorca

La 5ª Puñeta may not look like much but it's the perfect place to start an evening. There are just a few hightop tables so grab one, order a Wine or Caña and call up your friends. This is a place to socialize, forget about the work day and most importantly snack!
